What about emergency contraception?
Emergency contraception or the morning after pill is taken after sex to decrease the chance of pregnancy. It is not as effective as other methods and the dose of hormones is high, so it is not recommended for regular use.
It is more effective the sooner it is taken after sex, so many people decide to buy some and keep it on hand in case it’s needed.
